Women Centred Online Gallery
Women, lockdown & the future
WomenCentre is excited to share creative work from women of Connecting Opportunities.
We believe it is important to amplify women’s voices through creativity and facilitate safe spaces to create, shared experiences and learn. We have encouraged all women on CO to be creative and show how we have been coping in the pandemic and lockdown, and what we hope for the future.
The gallery brings together different forms of creativity – photography, drawing, poetry and conceptual art – and shows women’s experiences of lockdown: from being outdoors and noticing nature to food and hot drinks enjoyed at home.
We know doing arts and crafts can be fun, exciting, can help women relax as well as reflect. During the session WomenCentre co-hosted with women from our partner organisations we laughed and joked, shared memories as well as hopes for the future. We talked about juggling of responsibilities, worries as well as things we enjoy and how important it is to support each other.
Some of the creative work has come from group sessions, some have come from women who have generously share their own creations.
