On Thursday 19th December 2024 six women attended the allotment for a 2-hour creative session at the allotment space in Huddersfield. It was a cold, breezy day, but the sun shone brightly after endless days of heavy rain and high winds.
Gathered around the warmth of a fire, the session created a space for reflection, creative thinking, singing together and song writing. We also did some simple body percussion, which helped bring us together in the process of song writing, and kept us warm too!
The atmosphere was gentle and nourishing. The themes that came up in song and conversation were, the benefits of taking time out, feeling connecting with nature, experiencing grief as part of the light and darkness of life, holding beautiful memories of loved ones and feeling connected with female ancestors and our own intuition.
A short film was created using original music from the session and some film footage. Click here to watch.
