Festival of Women 2026
Everyone is invited to join us in a day to celebrate female lives and stories. To reflect upon women’s experiences in all their glorious diversity. We have a packed programme, including speakers, Fatima Khan-Shah, West Yorkshire’s Inclusivity Champion and Jane Scullion, Deputy Leader of Calderdale Council. This year, we are delighted to host Dr Sophie Newton, GP Health Educator, who will be taking questions about Women’s Health. We also welcome local writers, Victoria Gatehouse, Sally Baker and Angela Clare, who are going to lead Poetry and Writing Workshops. There will be Embroidery and Singing Sessions; Market Stalls; Art Exhibitions; our wonderful Café and of course, a very warm welcome. This exciting day will finish with a Theatre Performance from members of the Minster Community. ‘Wonderwoman’ celebrates the extraordinary life of Caroline Herschel, Astronomer and Scientist.
