Creation of her Own

This exhibition is organised by a young Woman called Amber, it is the Packhorse Centre in Huddersfield until Saturday 28th February – some beautiful artwork by some very talented young women.

“Creation of Her Own” showcases artwork made by women in West Yorkshire, and celebrates the purpose and freedom that we find through creativity. The goal of this project is to raise funds and awareness in support of WomenCentre Calderdale and Kirklees.

International Women’s Day Fundraising Dinner for WomenCentre 

We’re delighted to share that WomenCentre has been chosen as the charity being supported at a special International Women’s Day fundraising dinner, hosted by Kate Dearden MP.

The evening will celebrate WomenCentre’s 40+ years of supporting and empowering women across Calderdale and Kirklees, and will mark the upcoming retirement of our CEO, Angela Everson
We’re also honoured to be joined by Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, as guest speaker. The night will include a curry dinner, raffle and auction, with all proceeds donated to WomenCentre.

Working Together Better Partnership International Women’s Day!

The Women’s Mental Health & Wellbeing Project, in collaboration with our Working Together Partnership, invites you to a special International Women’s Day celebration
Wednesday 4th March Empire House, First Floor, WF12 8DJ
Registration: 10:00–11:00am – Event finishes at 2:00pm
This is a day created by women, for women — a space to connect, reflect, create and celebrate together. We’ll begin with music and singing from Emily and the amazing women from our Huddersfield music group.  Enjoy a short presentation from Gina at Arttastic, showcasing beautiful creative work produced by women accessing services in Dewsbury.
From 12pm, you can choose from a range of empowering workshops (sign up at registration)
  • S2R – Aromatherapy
  • HOOT – Visual Art Workshop
  • CLEAR – Mindfulness Activity
  • Carers Count – Pebble Painting
  • Staff from Waythrough and Cloverleaf Advocacy will also be available throughout the day to offer support and information around employment and advocacy.
To respect Ramadan, only light refreshments will be available throughout the day. However you’re very welcome to bring your own lunch if you wish.

Festival of Women 2026


Everyone is invited to join us in a day to celebrate female lives and stories. To reflect upon women’s experiences in all their glorious diversity.  We have a packed programme, including speakers, Fatima Khan-Shah, West Yorkshire’s Inclusivity Champion and Jane Scullion, Deputy Leader of Calderdale Council. This year, we are delighted to host Dr Sophie Newton, GP Health Educator, who will be taking questions about Women’s Health.  We also welcome local writers, Victoria Gatehouse, Sally Baker and Angela Clare, who are going to lead Poetry and Writing Workshops. There will be Embroidery and Singing Sessions; Market Stalls; Art Exhibitions; our wonderful Café and of course, a very warm welcome. This exciting day will finish with a Theatre Performance from members of the Minster Community. ‘Wonderwoman’ celebrates the extraordinary life of Caroline Herschel, Astronomer and Scientist.

The story of the crimes of Peter Sutcliffe, from the eyes of the Officers involved.
It’s 1975. The Milgarth Incident Room in Leeds is the epicentre of the biggest manhunt in British History, for one of the most notorious serial killers.
Dates: Tuesday 17th – Saturday 21st March ‘26.
Opening night charged at £20 as we raise much needed funds for the WomenCentre Halifax. We are also delighted to announce that Richard McCann, son of Wilma McCann will be in attendance.
