What our volunteers have to say:
“Every week, I have the priviledge of hosting our craft and coffee morning at WomenCentre, A cozy space where women can step away from their worries and just colour or craft. Many of the ladies who visit us are feeling lonely, vulnerable, or overwhelmed and this morning gives them a safe space to land. There is absolutely no pressure here.
Some ladies come eager to chat and share their stories, while others prefer the quiet comfort of doing some colouring or making a craft. It is incredibly rewarding to watch them relax, connect and slowly rebuild their confidence over a warm cup of tea and a creative project.
My role also connects me with women at the very start of their journey with WomenCentre. I make the initial outreach calls to ladies who have been referred to our centre by the police. These phone calls are all about offering a friendly, non-judgemental ear during a really difficult and stressful time. I get to check in on how they are doing, let them know they are not alone, and gently introduce them to the wonderful support our centre provides.
Combining these heart-to-heart phone calls with our lively craft mornings allows me to see our amzing service users find hope and healing every single week.”
Quote from a woman who came to WomenCentre:
“I have huge appreciation for EVERYONE who works their magic in the WomenCentre……you all have saved my life….I would no longer be on the planet if the WomenCentre hadn’t come into my life….its made a HUGE and extremely positive difference for me and my safe place….
You’re all just brilliant at what you do! Heartfelt thanks!!!!”
