Getting Older & Being Young – women centred stories & resources
As part of the Women Centred Learning Groups, WomenCentre met with women from the Tea and Talk Women’s Group at LASSN which is a space for women on Connecting Opportunities to socialise, practice English and encourage one another in an informal setting.
This short video offers wisdom and insight about age for you to enjoy and reflect upon.
WomenCentre’s role on Connecting Opportunities has been to work with women migrants and with our organisational partners to provide training and advice about women centred ways of working. We have brought together 6 principles of women centred working with women migrants which frame our work. We have also worked on adapting the principles for digital and blended ways of working
Connecting Opportunities worked with new migrants to develop their skills and opportunities to find work and be part of the local community. Over 60% of participants have been women.
As part of the Women Centred Learning Groups, women offered different perspectives on the theme of getting older and being young. Please see here for thoughts and learning from women who consulted and met with other women in their communities, asking what they’d like to share with us about getting older or being younger.
